Tahoe 2018
Pete and I spent the coziest MLK weekend in Tahoe. We've both been working like crazy people and needed an unplugged weekend away. We rented the cutest little Tahoe cabin and headed north for the three day weekend.
We really had no expectations or plans except to spend quality time together and relax! We chose to stay in Tahoma on the west side of Tahoe after finding this adorable tiny cabin! In the past, we've stayed in South Lake Tahoe which great! But after staying in Tahoma, I think we'll be returning back to the west shore for future trips! We loved the seclusion that the west shore provided us with. And it just felt more woodsy! We also loved some of the surrounding restaurants and hikes. Our Airbnb host created this awesome website for things to do in the area! We totally took advantage of all the information provided by our local hosts!
We absolutely LOVED our breakfast at the Fire Sign Cafe. We ordered banana bread french toast and an egg platter dish and seriously died and went to heaven!
After our late breakfast at The Fire Sign Cafe we headed down the road to Eagle Rock to hike a few short minutes up to a beautiful summit. Seriously breathtaking views of the lake.
We spent some time at this super rad bar on one of the docks on the south shore (the boathouse bar). It was so peaceful and surreal to sit and sip on a beer surrounded by calm blue waters and snow capped mountains all around us.
We tooled around the Village Center and went into a few of the Casinos. Then we headed off to a dinner that was SO GOOD that we ended up going to the same place the next night. If ya'll are in Tahoe you HAVE TO stop by The River Grill. It's one of those places where you can close your eyes and point to anything on the menu and not be disappointed. Definitely hit this place up if you are in the area! Anyways, here are some little snaps from our trip! We had a BLAST!
